| Sasha April 1999 - April 2000 |
This page is in memory of my foster Sasha, who passed away unexpectedly Monday April 3rd. She was just 12 days shy of her birthday. The "Necropsy" report pointed to a ruptured liver.
Anyway, for a little background on Sasha.
Sasha was Born on April 15th 1999 in Cocoa, Fl. I know she was owned by a couple in Palm Bay till she was about 10 months old.
She was given to a Siberian Husky shower in Cocoa around Febuary 16th. Siberian Husky Rescue of Fl. Inc. was notified shortly
after that. At that time I had another foster George who I need to place before I could take Sasha. A kind foster in Tampa took George so that I could take Sasha.
I went up to get Sasha Late Friday night on Febuary 25th. ABSOLUTE sweetheart! No idea why anyone would give an angle like her up? She rode like a dream in the car, never made a peep never moved.
Got home and did the introductions to my 2, not a single grumble. A solid night of sleep for all of us. Woke up Saturday to Sasha standing on the edge of bed staring at me. Nothing better then two
ice blue eyes looking at you glimmering with that "Let's go the day is young" look. We all get up and do the morning routine no problems, every one re-introduces themselves and they play in the yard.
Nothing prettier then watching Siberian Huskies run! It's just amazing to see. It is truly poetry in motion. If you have never seen Siberian Huskies run you need to!
Things went well, Sasha was very well behaved. Sasha loved playing with my 11 year old male "Buddy" and he liked her! They where buddies, almost always together. Sasha tried to play with my 7 year old female "Tasha" but as females can be, they didn't hit it off. So Sasha just continued to pal around with Buddy. It stumped me daily why anyone would give her up? No problems sweet got along with everyone. We went to Petsmart on Sundays so Sasha could try and find her "Forever" family. Every one loved her! She was just a sweetheart. At first she was really shy but would warm up the longer we stayed. No one really did much more then stop and pet her. That was fine as I was going to be a hard arse in placing her. She had earned a place in my heart in a few short days! I know in fostering you have to try and turn the feelings off for them as you can't save them all. But Sasha just worked her way in, way in DEEP. I almost adopted Sasha myself but then that would limit me to "EMERGENCY" fostering only.
